I’ve been off to a running start --- for a while ! Running away from getting started with social media and promoting the launch of my One Black Woman StoryTelling Lessons & Services in Charlotte, NC. But I feel up against it – no online following, no awards, no credentials beyond my BA, and who I know are people like me. And then there’s that I’ll be 69 in December. So you might ask, How can she give birth to anything substantial and relevant ?!
Given the discord in our country and the economic uncertainty facing working people – we need affordable ways to support everyday people, both in their mental well-being and skills development. Storytelling lessons as I’ve developed them – can do just that.
Think of my work as a hearty root vegetable – grown from the very ground I live in. Not flashy, not expensive, but offering comfort, substance, and real nourishment. To help you understand where I come from and the unique value of what I offer, I share the story of Maya, my Lyft driver last Tuesday…...

CAN MAYA SUCCEED ? I hope so.
Just like I hope to succeed in getting working people to invest in learning how to tell their stories better. it's going to take the help of strangers checking out what I do and letting others know it's value. For anyone in Charlotte, I have public StoryTelling events coming up ! 'Make A Film' Class Series and the 1st (in Charlotte -- did it before in Brooklyn, NY) Careers In Film Panel: 'HAIR & MAKEUP ARTISTS'.
